WARRIORS HUNTING GUIDE!
All Prey: Before you begin a hunt be sure to check the direction of the wind and move down wind so the prey doesn’t catch scent of you.
Small Prey: You should always have some sort of cover weather that be any object or environmental cover such as grass and trees. Any small prey is usually light and very fast. To successfully catch a any prey you have to start by being very silent. One of the main components is the hunter's crouch. Stalk forward and get close enough to only have to pounce on your prey. This goes for any prey except fish.
Large Prey: Large prey can be very dangerous and usually always requires a group effort. Only take a large prey head on if you are very quick, skilled at fighting and have extremely good stamina and agility. This will require fighting and elemental techniques. If not first using an elemental technique, leap onto its back and cling on with your claws. Use your hind claws to rake across a larger prey’s back as well as other methods to bring it down.
Aquatic Animals: Aquatic animals could range from anything in between any type of fish to eels,sea-snakes,crustaceans(crab, lobster, shrimp.) and mollusks (snails, slugs, mussels, octopus and squid.).
Tree Climbing: You have to have good muscle strength and accurate balance. Use your tail. For tree climbing X Runs up tree using tail for balance X you can swipe prey down or grab them. If they swerve onto a branch be careful getting onto that same branch and be extremely careful of your own weight on the tree so that the branch doesn’t break. If the prey leaps across a branch make sure it's a thick one that you can grab onto. If not try for another prey as bounding across branches can be very dangerous and can lead to serious injuries You may use any fighting and/or elemental techniques to hunt any type of prey as well.
Small prey: X Pounces with outstretched claws. X you can either X Digs claws into the (preys) skin. X or X Sinks teeth in a killing bite. X.
Large prey: X Leaps with all claws unsheathed and lands squarely on the (preys) back and clings on with claws X. X Rakes hind claws along the (preys) back. X
Tail Signals- Basic tail signals. Not required to use, but are good to know for communication. See wiki.
Types Of Prey-
Rodents: Rodents usually often escape predators by burrowing underground. Catch them before they do.
Squirrels: Squirrels can escape predators by climbing in trees. To easily catch one, using the basic skills you may either:
1- stalk them in an area with no trees.
2- Chase them by climbing into the trees.
Birds: Use your basic skills. If a bird happens to notice you and flies up, catch it before it does or leap up to either snatch it with your claws or your teeth.
Rabbits: Having cover is a good idea but for the most part is not needed. Rabbits are very fast and so to successfully catch one you have to be very swift and agile. They will burrow under ground.
Reptiles: Reptiles are usually very slow but some may leap to escape or spit deadly poisons.
Aquatic Animals: X Crouches down by edge of (Body of water) and peers into the water. Keeps head back and stays unseen X. When having spot one X Waits for (Type of aquatic animal) to get closer. X when it does get close enough X Strikes paw swiftly into the water, claws out(unsheathed). Pulls (Type of aquatic animal) out (if successfully caught) and sinks claws(or fangs) into it. X
